Mini Quilt

As a mini project and something to add to my shop, I made a small baby quilted blanket to be used as a comforter and to help babies learn to grab using the tags. Its not big enough to be used as an actual blanket but more of a toy/something to hold. I used four different fresh fabrics, two from my favourite place to buy fabric, the black and white polka dot and lime green fabric and two I already had. I patched them together in a simple pattern, placed it on a light weight wadding and a plain white cotton  and then quilted them together diagonally.

I then added four tags on each edge sewed them down and then went round the edge with the same yellow cotton binding tape, that's it! And I actually didn't take me to long to make. Find it in my Etsy Shop.

Happy Mothers Day!

OK so I know its not today but yesterday I posted my Mum a little something I made for her. Pretty much every year I make her something rather than buy something, as a lot more thought and effort goes into it and usually when I buy her something its hard to find something I think she would actually like and she always like the home made stuff better (so she says). So since I'm recently going large on this whole quilting/patchwork malarkey, I thought lets do that. So I made her a patchwork cushion (I think I've made her 3 cushions now for Mothers day, might have to switch it up next year!) using her favourite colour blue!

Its not perfect but I like it and hopefully so will my mum :)

What I've been up to...

I recently opened an online shop on Etsy called Indulge Your Heart, so I've been spending a lot of my time making things to stock it up! The general theme of my shop is cute small gift items, mostly for babies but hopefully there will be a bit on there for everybody. Here are a few photos of things currently on there.

So as you can see I also enjoy painting and drawing, so there is a little bit of that on there aswell.

Baby time!

So today I am starting two quilts that I am making for my new niece/nephew, there's two of them although it will be a surprise if they will be little boys or girls or one of each. They will be my older brothers first bambinos with his lovely fiancée and I just know they will make the best parents! Its all very exciting, so naturally I roped myself into making baby quilts! I have been searching for the perfect fabrics to use, ones that are unisex, so I decided yellows and greens are nice with bits of red.
I found these lovely fabrics from my new favourite place to buy fabric, My Fabric House.

Hello!

This is my first ever post, been meaning to do it for a long while and here it is!
I started this blog to share my passion for textiles and a few other things along the way.
I recently graduated from University College Falmouth where i did a degree in Textile Design, I gained alot of knowledge for the subject and hopefully this will be a place where i can share all my little projects! So here we go...
